Solitude – Song

<GRAPHIC FOR SONG>

The story behind this song, Distance, Disappear, and Time or Place is very long.  If you are interested in that story grab CC at a gig and ask him.

This song was written in the late 1970’s.  It was resurrected for this project.  The drum part was performed by the fantastic Dizzy Scott and recorded at Incident Music Labs.   Vocals were recorded by the talented Trilby Rose at the HAAP studio.  Everything else was recorded, mixed and mastered in various rooms of CC’s house.  It is a rumination on loneliness and fear.

Lyrics:

Solitude

As I look out from my window   (F# / Ab – Eb – C#)
I wonder what’s in store   (B – C# – Bb)
My mind fills with these mixed emotions
Wish I could know for sure
Will loneliness go away
Mistakes come once again
But I must learn to separate
My fears from what I know

Leave me here
Don’t try to change my mind
Now

Night comes down begin to wonder
What will go through my mind
Will I be told that it’s all over
Or I have still got time
To make the best of everyday
So hard but I must try
Let no one get in my way
Will not lay down and die

Leave me here
Don’t try to change my mind
Now
My thoughts grow darker
When I’m left with time
Now

Is heaven really on my side
Are all these lines begun in time
I need some kind of sign
Leave me here

Don’t try to change my mind
Now
My thoughts grow darker
When I’m left with time
Now

Will I fall down and
Just be swept aside
Or has my life just been a
Waste of all my time
Now
